Our Colorado Mountain Dogs are more than just animals- they are loyal guardians, trusted companions, and an essential part of our homestead.
Meet Kifiera and Tundra! They are our devoted livestock guardian dogs. These incredible animals live full time with our herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats, where they provide constant protection and peace of mind. Calm, intelligent, and gentle with people and livestock alike, the Colorado Mountain Dog is bred specifically for their role as effective protectors- and are a perfect for farms like ours.
Kifiera has been with us for a few years, while Tundra has been with us since he was just a pup- brought up right alongside our goats and children. They’ve grown into the heart of our operation- fiercely loyal to their charges, but always happy to see their people!
In the fall of 2024 we welcomed their first litter of puppies! These pups carried the same gentle temperament and guardian instincts that make CMDs such an ideal breed for family farms and homesteads. Raised in the pasture with their parents and goats from day one, they were nurtured to follow in their parents pawprints. We make sure to assess our puppies to see if they would be a better fit for family companions or farm guardians for their futures.
